2015: Pedestrian Road Safety

2015: Pedestrian Road Safety

Client: Victoria Police
Tutor(s): Aaron McLoughlin, Simon Norton

Brief: The number of pedestrian deaths and injuries on roads in the City of Boroondara, and more broadly across the state, is a serious issue for Victoria Police.

Victoria Police are looking to you, yes you, to create video clips that present issues surrounding Pedestrian Road Safety to the public, particularly elderly pedestrians, and the dangers they face crossing the road.

In this studio students will work either individually or in small groups of 2 or 3 to create a video clip in response to a briefing to be given by Victoria Police. Projects may be created using the medium of your choice, whether it be 2D, 3D, stop-motion, live-action with VFX etc, it’s up to you. The directive is that you can be as creative or humorous as you like but the message must be clear.

Projects created in this studio will be utilised by Victoria Police in presentations and will appear on the Boroondara Police Facebook page. They will also be loaded onto YouTube for broader access and use, not only by law enforcement agencies but other road safety practitioners.

This studio was delivered as part of the AIM Studio 4 course within the Bachelor of Design (Animation) at RMIT University.
