2021: Motion Graphics
Client: RMIT University
Tutor(s): Helen Dickson, Rebecca Hayes
Brief: Students in this AIM Design Studio will create a cohesive suite of artifacts ranging from opening and closing title sequences, trailers, teasers, experimental interactive works, and accompanying print collateral. You will be using these to promote a film, book, play, TV show, or children's book of your choice. Whether it is for a dark fairytale or modern thriller, this is an opportunity to craft a visual landscape based on your thematic interests.
Think of the iconic title sequences for Skyfall, Se7en, To Kill a Mockingbird, Sherlock Holmes, Mad Men, The Simpsons, True Blood, American Horror Story, True Detective etc. These are the "first impressions" to a story, where carefully tailored imagery and motion graphics are used to set the scene and atmosphere for a wider narrative. Students completing this Studio have the opportunity to create something engaging, humorous, exhilarating, or simply beautiful, a chance to immediately transport audiences into another world.
This studio was delivered as part of the AIM Studio 5 course within the Bachelor of Design (Animation) at RMIT University.
